Circulation/ Distribution Coordinator
The Exchange LLC is seeking a Circulation/ Distribution Coordinator to join our team and aid in the efficient and effective distribution of our weekly newspapers & other publications, to our readers in the following areas: Eastern Washington, North & Central Idaho, Tri-Cities, Moses Lake & Lewiston Clarkston Valley.
The Circulation/ Distribution Coordinator will assist to recruit, train, build and motivate a team of Independent Contractors to fulfill the delivery needs of The Exchange. The Coordinator has the ability to work a relatively flexible schedule, other than on main distribution mornings (Thursday) & weekly meeting days (Tuesday), and will develop & establish the contractor team alongside our Operations Manager, allowing for successful distribution.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Independent Contractor Supervision. Oversee approximately 25-30 contractor routes and Independent Contractors. Assist the Operations Manager to recruit, hire, train and familiarize new contractors with documents, expectations, feedback and payments. Ensure contractors are familiar with physical & digital paperwork (route sheets, pull sheets), alert the driver/ contractor to changes in pull quantities, placement requests, new distribution locations, or changes, etc.
Communicate with contractors pertaining to service issues.
Provide feedback and alerts to the Exchange Management Team regarding outcomes of contractor interactions, delayed production, or contract fulfillment concerns.
Increase Circulation Numbers. Scout & establish new locations which will increase circulations to meet company goals for a total of 250,000 readership in the Inland Northwest. Remove racks that have a low pickup rate and seek better locations, update route sheets and alert drivers to these changes.
Garage Setup: Count and prepare publications to ensure efficient product distribution to Independent Contractors in accurate quantities as required on Individual Route sheets.
Inspect publications for quality at the point of distribution.
Distribution Reports. Collect and document return numbers, use data software to make necessary updates weekly/monthly/quarterly and adjust as necessary.
Weekly/ Monthly/ Quarterly Restock: Restock publications as needed and as instructed for
distribution.
Work in the field to train, deliver publications, confirm and inspect publication delivery, install or replace racks and/or weatherguard cover devices, and interact with customers to investigate distribution concerns or confirm resolution of prior issues or problems.
Basic maintenance of equipment (racks, weatherguard cover devices)
Comply with all company policies, as well as State and Federal laws that apply to relationships with independent contractors, as applicable.
Other duties as assigned by the General or Operations Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
A successful candidate will have prior management experience, be self-motivated, excel at organization, have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; and have a good overall sense of independence with an entrepreneurial mindset. Candidates must be available to work early mornings when necessary (primarily Thursdays).
Additional qualifications and skills required:

- Familiar with Google docs, sheets, & Gmail
- Valid Driver's License, and clean driving record
- Active and instated auto insurance
Example Schedule:
Thursday 3am*-11am. (Warehouse Staging & Location Scouting)
Tuesday 8am*-11am (Weekly Staff Meeting & Distribution Meeting)
Sat/Sun: Restock Routes, 10 hours split between days.
Additional days as hours allow for new location scouting, training new drivers, etc.
*Not Flexible, 3-4am Thursday start time for staging papers for pick up & 8am Tuesday for weekly staff meeting with distribution meeting to follow

Experience:
- Distribution Operations Occupations: 1 year (Preferred)
- People Management Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
- Pallet jack/Forklift Experience (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
Work Location: Primary office Spokane Washington. Field work throughout Eastern Washington, Tri-Cities, Moses Lake, North & Central Idaho as needed.
Travel: 20-40% weekly
Physical Requirements: Move and lift bundles up to 17Ibs, turning, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling.
Pay: $48,662.57 - $58,604.39 per year
