Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst Consultant to support tax collection operations, business process improvements, and integrated tax system enhancements. This hybrid role requires expertise in analyzing business requirements, improving tax system functionality, supporting government operations, and collaborating with business and IT teams to deliver effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze business processes and identify opportunities to improve tax collection operations.
Evaluate and recommend enhancements to integrated tax systems and reporting capabilities.
Collaborate with business users, leadership, and IT teams to gather requirements and implement solutions.
Troubleshoot collection system issues and provide business-driven recommendations.
Develop reports and dashboards to improve operational efficiency and team performance.
Train and mentor team members on tax data, business processes, and system functionality.
Support SharePoint documentation, knowledge sharing, and process standardization.
Manage multiple projects while providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
Work closely with leadership to resolve operational challenges and improve workflows.
Ensure compliance with information security policies and state regulations.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and other special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (required).
6+ years of Business Analysis or Process Improvement experience.
5+ years of Integrated Tax System experience.
3+ years of State Government experience.
3+ years of SharePoint experience.
Experience training users on tax data and business processes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to recommend and implement business process improvements.
Must be a current South Carolina resident.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with GENTAX.
Leadership or supervisory experience.
Knowledge of tax collection operations and government business processes.
Experience working with enterprise reporting and system enhancements.

Work Environment

Hybrid schedule (up to 2 remote days per week; no consecutive remote days).
One-round virtual or onsite interview.
12-month consulting opportunity with potential extension.
Background, credit, tax, and criminal screening required.

Pay: $70.00 per hour
