Full Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Plant Engineering & Electrical Automation Specialist for a direct hire opportunity in Blythewood, SC. This is 100% On-Site and will support the planning, design, and implementation of electrical systems for advanced automotive assembly operations.

The ideal candidate for this role is a highly collaborative electrical engineering professional with deep experience supporting automotive assembly operations from concept through series production.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement electrical engineering concepts and planning strategies for assembly equipment and production systems
Design and specify electrical systems in alignment with mechanical requirements and operational needs
Serve as the primary representative for all electrical matters related to assembly equipment, both internally and with external partners
Create and manage detailed electrical specifications, including system interfaces and integration requirements
Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project timelines
Oversee electrical interfaces between equipment, shopfloor IT systems, and other connected technologies
Review and approve electrical designs; resolve technical issues with vendors and contractors
Support full project lifecycle from concept development through installation, commissioning, and production launch
Prepare cost estimates, conduct bid evaluations, and support vendor selection
Drive continuous improvement through change management, process optimization, and technical enhancements
Collaborate cross-functionally with production, IT, facilities, and EHS teams
Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering field
5+ years of experience in automotive production environments
3+ years of experience in assembly operations
3+ years of experience in electrical systems and automation for production equipment
Knowledge in Equipment Electric Planning Processes
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Basic technical knowledge in automation technology and/or production systems (e.g., industrial network structures, PLCs and control units, Siemens TIA Portal).
Basic knowledge of production systems in the field of production (e.g., SCADA, Back-up and Recovery systems, MES).
Experience with electrical design and specification for automotive assembly equipment, including conveyors, semi-automated, and fully automated stations, torque data management, etc.
Knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations (e.g., NEMA, NFPA 79, NEC)

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Engineering
Experience with web-based tools and office applications
Customer-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
