Full Job Description

Overview
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading hands-on HR support with a strong focus on recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and employee relations. This role partners with staff to identify needs, attract and evaluate qualified candidates, coordinate a consistent and welcoming onboarding experience, and support employees and managers through workplace questions, concerns, and performance-related matters. The HR Manager helps ensure HR practices are consistent, compliant, people-centered, and aligned with the organization’s culture and operational needs.

Responsibilities

Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts, including intake meetings with hiring managers, job posting, candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer support.
Conduct candidate phone screens and interviews, assess qualifications and culture fit, and provide timely feedback and recommendations to hiring managers.
Maintain consistent, professional communication with candidates throughout the hiring process to support a positive candidate experience.
Coordinate pre-employment processes, including background checks, reference checks, employment eligibility verification, and new hire documentation.
Manage the onboarding process and facilitate new hire orientation.
Serve as a primary HR contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance to employees and managers with professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
Support managers in addressing performance concerns, attendance issues, policy questions, coaching conversations, and corrective action documentation.
Conduct or support workplace investigations and recommend appropriate next steps in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
Maintain accurate employee records and recruiting documentation, ensuring confidentiality, completeness, and compliance with recordkeeping requirements.
Assist with HR policy interpretation, employee communications, and consistent application of workplace practices across the organization.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
5+ years of progressive HR experience with significant responsibility for recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and employee relations.
Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruiting processes and coordinating onboarding activities and helping new employees successfully transition into the organization.
Strong interviewing skills, including the ability to evaluate candidate qualifications, ask effective behavioral questions, and make sound hiring recommendations.
Strong knowledge of employee relations practices, workplace investigations, coaching documentation, and conflict resolution.
Working knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements related to hiring, onboarding, employee records, and employee relations.
Ability to build trust with employees and managers while maintaining appropriate confidentiality, objectivity, and professionalism.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear documentation, employee communications, and manager guidance.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations priorities simultaneously.
Experience with applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
