About the Position
The Development Review Engineering Supervisor provides engineering expertise and manages a workgroup of professionals tasked with ensuring that proposed development is appropriately served with public transportation and utility.
This is a Management Exempt / Non-represented Position

Qualifying Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or related field and at least five years of professional experience implementing or managing the planning, design, permitting or construction of municipal utilities or transportation infrastructure.

At least three years of work experience in an increasingly responsible supervisory or leadership capacity.
Desired Qualifications
Certifications / Licenses-
Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon, or possession of said registration from another state with ability to obtain the Oregon certificate of registration within 6 months of appointment.

Possession of and ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge of: and ability to interpret and apply applicable local, State and Federal regulatory requirements; and high level of technical expertise in transportation and utility engineering; project management principles and methods; principles of supervision and human resource practices, budgeting and record-keeping.
Skill in: strong leadership, communication and organization; strong written and oral communication.
Ability to: communicate technical requirements to technical and non-technical audiences; read plans, specifications, engineering drawings and interpret maps; develop and implement operational programs and procedures; plan, assign and supervise the work of subordinates to accomplish goals and objectives; prepare and present comprehensive written and oral reports on technical and complex issues; foster and promote collaboration and teamwork from a variety of individuals and groups who may have differing, or opposing, interests or agendas; mediate adversarial situations; work under time constraints, manage evolving situations and conflicting priorities, perform multiple tasks effectively, evaluate and motivate staff to maximize organizational efficiency and effectiveness; develop and monitor safe practices, and manage hazards in accordance with best practices; get along well with coworkers and maintain working relationships, including effective labor relations; occasionally travel to local and regional meetings; use multi-line phone system; personal computer including word processing, spreadsheet, and data base software, copy and fax machines, calculator, automobile or truck, and other related tools and equipment.
