FT M-F 9AM-6PM
INTENDED START DATE: 8/1

The Pharmacy Fill Technician at Stratum Pharmacy's Dallas (Coppell) facility is responsible for accurately filling, labeling, and preparing prescription orders for final pharmacist verification and dispensing. This role operates within a 503A compounding pharmacy environment and requires strict adherence to Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) regulations, applicable USP standards, and all Stratum Pharmacy standard operating procedures. All activities are performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in compliance with the Texas Pharmacy Act.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prescription Filling & Labeling

Retrieve, interpret, and accurately fill pharmacist-verified prescription orders per approved formulations and batch records.
Verify drug name, strength, dosage form, quantity, and packaging against the prescription prior to labeling.
Apply compliant labels containing all required elements per TSBP Rule 291.33 and USP labeling standards (patient name, prescriber, BUD, storage instructions, auxiliary labels).
Perform final visual inspection of filled preparations for appearance, clarity, container integrity, and labeling accuracy before routing to pharmacist verification.
Fill both non-sterile and sterile preparation orders as assigned, following department-specific SOPs for each dosage form.

Documentation & Quality

Complete all required fill logs, batch record entries, and pick/pack documentation accurately and in realtime.
Verify and record lot numbers, expiration dates, quantities dispensed, and compounder initials on all applicable records.
Flag and document any discrepancies (wrong drug, strength, quantity, or appearance anomaly) to the Lead Fill Technician or pharmacist before proceeding.
Maintain data integrity on all records; never alter documentation without appropriate correction protocol(single line-through, initials, date).
Support cycle counts, expiration date audits, and inventory reconciliation activities as assigned.

Workflow ; Operations

Prioritize and organize fill queue to support timely turnaround and meet daily dispensing and shipping deadlines.
Coordinate with the compounding, pharmacist verification, and shipping teams to resolve order delays or special handling requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant fill station; conduct and document routine cleaning per the area sanitation schedule.
Assist with inventory control including stock replenishment, FEFO rotation, and low-stock reporting.
Operate pharmacy dispensing software, label printers, and management systems accurately and efficiently.

Compliance & Safety

Perform all duties under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist per the Texas Pharmacy Act; no prescription shall be released without pharmacist verification.
Adhere to all PPE, hygiene, and safety requirements applicable to the Fulfillment department.
Complete all assigned training, competency assessments, and continuing education per TSBP and facilitypolicy.
Maintain current, active Texas Pharmacy Technician Registration; notify management immediately of anychange in licensure status.
Uphold all HIPAA and patient privacy obligations throughout prescription handling.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.

Licensure (Required)

Active, unrestricted Texas Pharmacy Technician Registration issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) required prior to employment start, or ability to obtain registration within 30 days of hire.
National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB CPhT or NHA ExCPT) preferred; may be required within 12 months of hire per facility policy.

Experience & Skills

Previous pharmacy fulfillment, dispensing, or prescription processing experience preferred.
Ability to accurately read and interpret prescription orders, labels, and formulation records.
Basic proficiency in pharmaceutical calculations (quantities, doses, units of measure).
Proficiency with pharmacy management systems, barcode scanners, and standard label printers.
Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy and patient safety.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in a 503A or 503B compounding pharmacy environment.
Familiarity with high-volume fulfillment or production pharmacy workflows.
Experience with electronic batch record systems and pharmacy management software.
PTCB CPhT national certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
Manual dexterity for handling vials, syringes, labels, and small prescription containers.
Visual acuity sufficient to verify label text, drug markings, and product appearance.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs (e.g., supply totes, shipping boxes).
Work environment: climate-controlled pharmacy fulfillment area; exposure to pharmaceutical products and cleaning agents per safety protocols.

SUPERVISORY STRUCTURE & OVERSIGHT

All Pharmacy Fill Technician activities are performed under the supervision, control, and responsibility of alicensed pharmacist as required by the Texas Pharmacy Act (Tex. Occ. Code § 558.001 et seq.). No prescription order shall be dispensed or released without pharmacist final verification and approval. The Pharmacist-in-Charge

(PIC) maintains ultimate accountability for all dispensing activities at this facility.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
