National Training Director - Job Description
About The New Flat Rate
The New Flat Rate (TNFR) partners with home-service professionals to improve sales performance, technician confidence, and operational consistency through a proven menu-style pricing and sales system.
Training is not a feature we offer — it is the engine behind our members’ results. Data shows that members who attend at least two full Implementation & Refresher Trainings per year double, triple, or quadruple their service sales. The person in this role is a direct reason that happens.
Own the Room. Change Businesses.
If you are someone who:
- Can walk into a room with a skeptical audience and have them leaning forward within 10 minutes
- Knows how to make complex systems feel simple and exciting
- Has a track record of changing how people think, not just what they know
- Wants a role where your energy and skill directly impact real business outcomes
…this is your role.
The National Training Director owns the delivery and ongoing development of The New Flat Rate’s training and implementation experience. This means leading our flagship two-day and three-day training events, coaching sessions, Q&A calls, ride alongs, and more — while also building the curriculum and systems that make our training program world-class. This is a high-visibility, high-impact position for someone who brings serious energy and knows how to turn a room of skeptics into believers.
You'll lead these trainings out of our state of the art training facility at TNFR headquarters in Dalton, GA — built specifically for the kind of high-energy, hands-on learning experience our members expect. You'll engage both in-person and online audiences, delivering the same high-impact experience regardless of where members are tuning in from.
Who We’re Looking For
The right person for this role has a special combination: they can command a room, connect with skeptical contractors, and break down complex concepts in a way that actually sticks. We are not looking for a traditional corporate trainer. We want someone with genuine charisma, energy, real credibility, and the ability to make grown adults feel excited about changing the way they run their business.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery
- Lead two-day and three-day Implementation & Refresher Training events for TNFR members — the cornerstone experience that drives measurable revenue growth for contractor businesses.
- Facilitate Monthly Q&A Coaching Calls for owners, technicians, and dispatchers.
- Conduct Technician Ride Along Coaching sessions in the field with member companies.
- Oversee TNFR product training, Workshops, and Bootcamps.
- Represent TNFR with high energy and professionalism at every training event, whether in-person or virtual.
Curriculum & Program Development
- Build, refine, and own training curriculum across all TNFR program formats — not just deliver it.
- Develop structured learning frameworks that help contractors retain and apply what they learn.
- Collaborate with internal teams to keep training content aligned with product updates, system changes, and member feedback.
- Identify gaps in the current training experience and proactively bring solutions.
Member Engagement & Retention
- Serve as a trusted, energizing presence that members look forward to learning from.
- Identify members who may be struggling with adoption and coordinate with the Member Experience team to re-engage them.
- Reinforce correct TNFR system usage and ensure consistency across all member interactions.
- Capture feedback from training events and relay insights to internal teams.
KPIs & Performance Metrics
- Training attendance and member satisfaction scores
- Member engagement and adoption rates post-training
- Curriculum development milestones
- Retention impact among trained member accounts
Required
- Proven experience in training, coaching, facilitation, or adult education — in a professional setting, not just informally.
- A natural, commanding presence in front of a group — high energy, engaging, and adaptable to different audiences.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex systems and speak plainly about money, time, and results.
- Strong curriculum development skills — you can build a structured program, not just wing a presentation.
- Highly self-directed and organized — this role requires managing your own schedule, travel, and prep without being micromanaged.
- Ability to read a room and adjust on the fly — every group of contractors is different.
- Comfortable with travel for in-person training events.
Preferred
- Background in the trades — HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or a related field. Bonus if you’ve worked in it.
- Experience training or coaching in a service, franchise, or multi-location business environment.
- Familiarity with SaaS products, software training, or menu-style pricing systems.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
Why This Role Matters
TNFR’s training is one of the most impactful things we do for our members. When contractors show up, engage, and apply what they learn, their businesses change — sometimes dramatically. We have seen it happen again and again. This role exists because we need someone fully dedicated to making that happen at scale, with the energy and expertise our members deserve. If you thrive in front of people, love the trades, and want your work to mean something — we want to talk to you.
As National Training Director, you will embody TNFR’s core values:
- Innovative – Continuously improving training systems, curriculum, and delivery to meet members where they are.
- Helpful – Ensuring every member walks away with the tools, clarity, and confidence to succeed.
- Driven – Taking full ownership of member outcomes and never settling for a room that isn’t fully engaged.
- Ambassador – Representing TNFR’s mission, methodology, and brand with professionalism at every touchpoint.
This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. TNFR may consider a hybrid work arrangement; however, this role must be onsite to facilitate and host all training sessions.
The position requires flexibility and a willingness to travel as needed for trainings, trade shows, and other events, including occasional weekend travel.
The National Training Director reports directly to the Director of Member Experience.
