Note: The Credentialed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Your Impact Will Include:
Anesthesia & Patient Monitoring: You will induce, maintain, and monitor patients under sedation and general anesthesia, continuously assessing vital parameters and adjusting anesthetic depth as needed. You will recognize and respond to changes in patient status and escalate concerns to the ophthalmologist promptly.
Drug Calculation & Administration: You will accurately calculate, prepare, and administer anesthetic agents, analgesics, ophthalmic and topical medications, emergency drugs, and other medications, ensuring precise dosing tailored to each patient.
Ophthalmic Diagnostics & Procedure Support: You will perform and assist with specialized ophthalmic diagnostics—including Schirmer tear tests, tonometry, fluorescein staining, and assisting with slit-lamp and fundic examinations—and support the ophthalmologist during microsurgical and ophthalmic procedures while maintaining strict sterile technique.
Phlebotomy & Diagnostics: You will perform venipuncture and collect samples for laboratory analysis, place IV catheters, and assist with the documentation of diagnostic findings.
Post-Procedure & Critical Care: You will manage patient recovery, monitor for post-procedure complications, administer pain management protocols, and provide attentive, compassionate care to patients.
Client Education & Service: You will discharge patients, review post-procedure treatment plans, at-home eye care and medication administration, and follow-up instructions with clients, and support client service operations as needed.
Operational Excellence & Mentorship: You will accurately maintain medical records, prescriptions, and controlled drug logs using computer systems, ensure procedure-room readiness between cases, and help train and mentor veterinary assistants and new teammates.

Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT, or equivalent).

Experience in ophthalmology, surgery, anesthesia, or a specialty/referral environment is strongly preferred.

Proficiencyin anesthesia monitoring, drug calculation, ophthalmic diagnostic testing, phlebotomy, and IV catheter placement.

Ability to stay calm and efficient in emergencies and high-stress situations.

Strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Workspace) and excellent written/verbal communication.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry animals up to 40 lbs. Requires prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and physical activity.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment with exposure to animal odors, noise, and bodily fluids.

Pay range of $28.00 - $33.00/hr based on experience
