Full Job Description

EDGE Contracting, Inc. is hiring experienced, dependable construction professionals to join our heavy civil crews throughout the Denver metro area and Colorado Front Range.

EDGE specializes in underground utilities, drainage, flood-control improvements, stream restoration, concrete structures, grading, and other heavy civil construction.

Open Pipe Crew Positions

· Pipe Crew Foreman

· Pipelayer

· Topman

· General Laborer

· Loader Operator

Open Concrete Crew Positions

· Concrete Carpenter

· Concrete Finisher

· Rodbuster/Reinforcing Steel Installer

· Concrete Laborer

Pipe Crew Responsibilities

· Install storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, drainage pipe, manholes, inlets, and related structures.

· Set and verify pipe alignment, grade, slope, and invert elevations.

· Assist with trench excavation, bedding, pipe installation, backfill, and compaction.

· Safely operate loaders and other construction equipment around workers and underground utilities.

· Follow trench-safety, confined-space, traffic-control, and utility-locate requirements.

· Maintain production while meeting project plans, specifications, and quality standards.

· Foremen will supervise personnel, coordinate equipment and materials, plan daily production, maintain installation records, and communicate with project management and inspectors.

Concrete Crew Responsibilities

· Build and strip forms for headwalls, wingwalls, box culverts, channels, walls, slabs, inlets, and other civil structures.

· Install reinforcing steel, dowels, embeds, waterstops, and forming systems.

· Place, vibrate, screed, finish, cure, and repair concrete.

· Read construction plans, elevations, dimensions, and reinforcement details.

· Maintain accurate line, grade, dimensions, and concrete finish requirements.

· Safely use hand tools, power tools, compactors, saws, vibrators, and other concrete equipment.

Qualifications

· Heavy civil, underground utility, or structural concrete experience is preferred.

· Foreman applicants must have prior experience supervising underground pipe crews.

· Equipment operators must demonstrate safe and productive loader operation.

· Ability to read plans and understand construction staking, elevations, and grades is preferred.

· Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are required.

· Must be able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

· Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physically demanding construction work.

· Must follow all EDGE safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment.

· A valid driver’s license and CDL are preferred but not required for every position.

· Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Employment Information

· Full-time employment

· Typical schedule: Monday through Friday, with overtime and occasional weekend work as project conditions require
