Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary
Downtown Des Moines, IA

A mid-sized law firm in downtown Des Moines is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary to join our team. This role involves a variety of administrative and legal support duties, including:

Transcribing dictation (e.g., pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents).
E-filing in state and federal court systems.
Scheduling appointments, hearings, and depositions.
Processing mail and fax correspondence.
Answering phones and providing excellent client service.
Assisting with billing and invoicing.
Preparing deposition and trial exhibits.
Possible record review depending on experience and ability.
Performing general office duties as needed.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with office and legal software (e.g., EDMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, TimeSlips, Adobe, and QuickBooks) or the ability to learn quickly.
A professional and positive attitude in a team-oriented environment.

Position Details:

Full-time availability.
Onsite parking provided.
