Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and compliant tax returns for individuals while ensuring they maximize their benefits while adhering to all relevant regulations. Your expertise in financial concepts, tax laws, and accounting software will help clients navigate complex tax situations with confidence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in tax prep and tax planning while delivering exceptional customer service.

**UltraTax experience is required. Pay rate can be higher and is based on experience with tax preparation.

**This job is full time throughout tax season. Dates may slightly vary: February 1 - May 15. Part-time work may be available for months outside of tax season.

Responsibilities

Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals with precision and attention to detail.
Utilize UltraTax
Analyze clients’ financial data to identify deductions, credits, and opportunities for tax savings while ensuring compliance with current tax laws.
Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations by explaining complex financial concepts clearly and professionally.
Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and regulations to provide accurate advice and ensure compliance.
Collaborate with clients to gather additional documentation or clarification as needed during the preparation process.
Maintain thorough records of all filings, correspondence, and client interactions for future reference.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client questions promptly and professionally throughout the tax preparation process.

Experience

Prior experience in tax preparation or public accounting is highly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, financial concepts, and technical accounting practices.
Proficiency with UltraTax is required.
Strong analysis skills combined with attention to detail ensure accuracy in all filings.
Excellent math skills and proficiency in 10-key typing facilitate efficient data entry and calculations.
Exceptional customer service skills are essential for building trust and maintaining long-term client relationships.
