Full Job Description

Total Care PLLC is a patient-centered medical clinic committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare. We are currently expanding our team and are looking for a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing practice. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about providing excellent care in a clinical ophthalmology setting.

Position Summary:
As an Ophthalmic Technician at Total Care PLLC, you will work closely with our ophthalmologist and clinical staff to assist in the examination and treatment of patients. Your role will be essential in supporting both the clinical and diagnostic aspects of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for examination and accurately document medical history
Perform preliminary eye tests including visual acuity, tonometry, visual fields, and pupil assessments
Administer eye drops or medications as directed by the physician
Assist with diagnostic testing such as OCT, fundus photography, and A-scan/B-scan ultrasonography
Maintain and clean ophthalmic instruments and exam rooms
Educate patients on procedures, medications, and post-visit instructions
Support physicians during minor in-office procedures
Ensure accurate and timely entry of data into electronic medical records (EMR)

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or willingness to become certified preferred but not required
Previous experience in ophthalmology is not required
Proficient in general computer use
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
Bilingual

Work Schedule:
Full-time: Monday–Friday

Two locations: East Side and West Side (Willing to work on both locations).

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
