Part-Time Design Consultant | Contractor | Remote
You know the moment: someone has three flooring samples in front of them, a Pinterest board full of ideas, and no idea which direction to go.
That’s where you come in.
Flooret is looking for interior designers who want to put their expertise to work in a flexible, part-time role alongside their existing design career. You’ll meet virtually with customers who have ordered Flooret flooring samples and help them make one big decision: which flooring is right for their space?
This isn’t about the hard sell. It’s about asking the right questions, sharing your design perspective, and helping someone go from second-guessing to confident in their choice.
What You’ll Do
- Meet with customers by phone or video to talk through their space, style, and flooring options.
- Offer thoughtful, personalized recommendations using Flooret products.
- Help customers compare colors, tones, finishes, and practical considerations.
- Follow up with recommendations and next steps after each consultation.
- Manage your consultation calendar and keep track of customer outcomes.
- Share recurring questions, feedback, and design trends with the Flooret team.
From time to time, there may also be opportunities to lend your design expertise to Flooret content and other creative projects.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
- You’re a working interior designer looking for a flexible way to earn additional income.
- You have professional design experience, formal training, or a strong equivalent portfolio.
- You have a great eye for color, materials, and how finishes work together.
- You genuinely enjoy helping people make design decisions.
- You’re warm, approachable, and comfortable talking with customers by phone or video.
- You can confidently guide someone toward a decision without making it feel like a sales pitch.
- You’re self-directed and comfortable managing your own schedule and follow-through.
Experience with flooring, renovation, residential interiors, or home brands is a plus.
The Setup
This is a remote, part-time contractor opportunity designed to work alongside your existing design career.
Time commitment: 10-hour-per-week minimum
Compensation: Monthly retainer + per-consultation fee + commission
Schedule: Flexible, based in part on customer bookings; evening or weekend availability is a plus.
