The Airport Business and Communications Manager is responsible for managing Eugene Airport’s non-aeronautical business activities, external relations, and communication support functions. This position focuses on General Aviation (GA) relations, marketing coordination, social media oversight, public information support, and commercial program coordination. The role serves as a key liaison between the airport, its tenants, users, media, and the broader community, ensuring consistent messaging, strong stakeholder relationships, and compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills, an understanding of airport operations and tenant environments, and the ability to represent the airport effectively to diverse audiences.
Classification: Senior Management Analyst
Salary Range: $44.83 - $60.52 / hourly; $93,246.40 - $125,881.60 / annually
A 2.7% COLA increase is effective 7/1/2026.

The City of Eugene is located in the Willamette Valley, which offers a wide range of recreational activities to residents and visitors. Must pass a TSA fingerprint based Criminal Background check. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Business & Commercial Program Support:
- Support oversight of airport concessions, commercial services, and non-aeronautical revenue programs.
- Assist with coordination of tenant communications related to construction, operational changes, and policy updates.
- Help prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials for senior leadership, boards, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with FAA grant assurances, lease requirements, and applicable regulations related to property and revenue activities.
General Aviation Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for General Aviation tenants and users, including hangar tenants, FBOs, flight schools, and transient GA operators.
- Coordinate with airport operations, engineering, and maintenance staff to address GA-related concerns, access issues, construction impacts, and operational changes.
- Support lease administration and tenant communications related to hangars, tie-downs, and GA facilities, ensuring alignment with FAA grant assurances and airport policies.
- Facilitate regular communication with GA stakeholders through meetings, briefings, and written updates.
- Assist with GA-focused events, outreach activities, and community engagement initiatives.
Marketing & Communications Coordination:
- Coordinate airport marketing efforts across departments to ensure consistent branding, messaging, and public-facing materials.
- Serve as the airport liaison to external marketing consultants, advertising vendors, and city communications staff as assigned.
- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns promoting air service, concessions, parking, and airport services.
- Support content development for print, digital, and on-airport promotional materials.
Social Media and Web Site Management:
- Manage and maintain the airport’s social media presence in coordination with City of Eugene communication policies.
- Develop, schedule, and publish social media content highlighting airport operations, tenant activity, travel information, community partnerships, and special events.
- Monitor social media channels for customer inquiries or issues and coordinate responses with appropriate airport staff.
- Track engagement metrics and provide periodic performance summaries to leadership.
- Oversee EUG web site content and updates
Public Information Officer (PIO) Backup:
- Serve as a designated backup to the Airport Public Information Officer when needed.
- Assist with media inquiries, public messaging, and information coordination during irregular operations, emergencies, or high-profile events.
- Support preparation of press releases, talking points, and public notices in coordination with airport leadership and City communications staff.
- Help ensure accurate, timely, and consistent public messaging across all communication channels.
General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with airport departments and external partners to support overall airport goals and customer experience.
- Participate in special projects and cross-departmental initiatives as assigned.
- Represent the airport at community meetings, industry events, and stakeholder engagements as needed.

Work Environment:
Occasional evening or weekend work for events, public meetings, or operational needs.
Periodic attendance at off-site meetings and industry conferences.

What to Expect from our Selection Process: Applicants are screened based upon their relevant knowledge, abilities, skills, experience, and training.
