Full Job Description

Patterson, Prince and Associates, PC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic CPA firm. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in staff/project management, accounting and tax services. The Accounting Manager will complete bookkeeping projects, review tax returns (business and individual), manage bookkeeping and tax staff, monitor deadlines, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and firm procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Preparation & Review:

Prepare and review business and individual tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Monitor upcoming deadlines and assist in managing staff workload/project goals

Staff Management & Oversight:

Supervise and mentor bookkeeping and tax staff, providing training and performance feedback.
Assign tasks and monitor individual staff members’ progress and workload.
Promote a collaborative and efficient work environment to ensure staff meet deadlines and quality standards.

Project & Deadline Management:

Monitor and enforce tax filing deadlines, client deliverables, and compliance requirements.
Oversee workflow processes and implement efficiencies to enhance productivity.
Coordinate with partners to ensure client expectations are met.

General Accounting & Tax Duties:

Manage client bookkeeping services, including financial statement preparation and reconciliations.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting principles, ensuring compliance.
Assist with client advisory services, financial planning, and special accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

CPA license
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
3+ years of public accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of tax laws, GAAP, and accounting best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
