ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, designs, develops, tests, and documents all aspects of mechanical/electromechanical/optoelectronic components and assemblies in compliance to company quality system design controls and applicable standards.
- Applies knowledge of mechanical engineering principles to design and test products such as instruments, controls, and mechanisms.
- Applies knowledge of raw materials, quality control, costs, and principals involved in the production of precision mechanical assemblies.
- May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, troubleshooting, or repair of products.
- Is familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
- Demonstrates a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
- Works independently. May lead and direct the work of others.
- Follows the development schedule and timeframes.
- Operates within the company theme of Cost Effective by Design.
- Troubleshoot product related issues, determine root cause failure and implement corrective action.
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a remote position. This is an in-office position.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in CAD and rendering programs (Solid Works a plus).
- Experience with MS Office.
- Ability to use mathematics and scientific rules to solve problems.
- Ability to identify issues and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternate solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems.
- Ability to support on-going projects and improve designs as it relates to cost and manufacturability.
- Ability to write detailed design documentation (design requirements, test protocols/reports, etc).
- Effective communication skills.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- BSME with at least five years or MSME with at least three years’ experience in the field with track record of excellent performance or a number of years of service with the company with superior performance in the field.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as drawings, work orders, work instructions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
