General Overview of the Position:
The teachers are the chief instructors at Immanuel Lutheran School and lend leadership to educational programs and events. The teacher’s main activity is that of instructing the students in the areas as set forth in the school’s curriculum and within the spirit of the school’s Mission Statement.
Spiritual Functions:
- Be in the Word for personal spiritual growth.
- Be in the Word for study in preparation to teach the Word.
- Develop and maintain an active prayer life for parish, school, students, families, and co-workers.
- Worship and commune regularly and faithfully.
- Participate in at least one visible church support ministry.
- Set an example of Christ-like living for all to model.
General Functions:
- Is responsible for assisting the principal in implementing policies adopted by the congregation and the Board of Christian Day School.
- Reports regularly to the principal on the specific areas of delegated responsibility.
- Assists the Principal, when possible, in developing sound educational recommendations to the Board of Christian Day School.
- Is responsible to work as a team member with all other personnel of the school and congregation in a spirit of collaboration.

Tasks
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
- Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
- Prepare and deliver lectures to students.
- Plan, and evaluate course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Teach the approved current curriculum map content.
- Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching issues.
- Teach courses pertaining to English Language Arts in accordance with best practices.
- Teach English Language Arts courses and support the entire middle school staff in discipline, encouragement of students and scheduling of other activities, as necessary.
Job Details:
- This position is for 10 hours a week, 2 hours a day, Monday through Friday, with hours as agreed upon by the teacher and administration.
- Salary is based on Degree level and years of experience.
- This position is for one school year.
