This position is located in Fosston, MN. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician performs intermediate skilled trades work such as corrective and preventive maintenance on facility mechanical equipment, including boilers, incinerators, and pumps; related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Essential Functions

Repairs facility mechanical equipment, including performing welding, fabricating, and pipe fitting duties on all facility boiler turbines, incinerators, pumps, and mechanical equipment.

Performs required preventive maintenance on facility mechanical equipment by inspecting, monitoring, and cleaning equipment, and replacing parts or recommending repairs to Supervisor.

Maintains required reports and forms, documenting and recording repairs and maintenance activities performed on facilities or equipment.

Assists Supervisor in monitoring inventory and ordering new parts and supplies.

Operates various facility process equipment, including incinerators, fans, hydraulic systems, pumps, ash conveyors and condensers.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Relief work for Loader Operator.

Knowledge Required:

Knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED and moderate experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements

Special Requirements
Two (2) year technical certificate or technical training in mechanical maintenance

Stationary Engineer 1st Class A License
- Includes progressive licensing prior to attaining 1st Class A license.
- Must be able to attain 1st Class A licensure within 54 months.
