We are currently looking for an experienced spray Finisher to join our team. Your pay will depend on your experience and skill level as well as on-site tests. The Finisher II rate is $21.90 per hour, the Finisher III rate is $24.10.
Finisher II Position Summary: A Finisher II mixes stain formulas, sprays both solvent and water-based stains and clear coats, sands between coats, diagnoses and patch repairs minor flawed areas, performs other tasks as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow chemical mixing formulas and instructions.
- Use measuring and mixing equipment with accuracy.
- Match sprayed stain color to stain samples for quality and accuracy.
- Communicate the current product, process or material constraints or issues to the team leader or other coordinator as directed.
- Ensure a quality product is completed according to specifications and meets or exceeds tact times.
- Clean own equipment daily, and booth/area as needed.
- Follow safety rules, work policies and procedures per training/instructions.
- Willing to move to other positions where needed.
- Reliable attendance.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills Required:
- Possesses high school level math skills.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Reliable attendance.
- Strong work ethic.
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions in English.
- Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Able to read a tape measure.
- Able to work with a variety of hand tools.
- Minimum 2+ years previous high-end wood finishing experience spraying and wipe-staining solvent and water-based stains and clear coat systems, including sanding between coats and patch repairing any flawed areas required.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift and handle materials up to 50 pounds.
- Good hand/eye coordination and eyesight (corrected).
- Must be able to wear respirator.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, squat, or bend and use hands and arms to push, pull, reach or grasp 8-10 hours per day, 40-60 hours per week.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing facility with exposure to wood dust, noise, glue and finish materials, and moving machinery.
- Use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and respirator is required; gloves optional.
- Manufacturing facility is not air-conditioned.
Finisher III Position Summary: A Finisher III mixes stain formulas, sprays both solvent and water-based stains and clear coats, diagnoses and patch repairs any flawed areas, minor or major. Other tasks as assigned.
In addition to the Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Finisher II, a Finisher III must also train and mentor level I and II Finishers, and teach interested parties to be potential Finishers.
In addition to the Education/Experience/Skills Required of a Finisher II, a Finisher III is required to have a minimum of 5+ years of previous high-end wood finishing experience spraying both solvent and water-based stains and clear coat systems, plus possesses basic level color matching ability and strong leadership and accountability skills.
A Finisher III position has the same Physical Requirements and Work Environment as a Finisher II.
