Are you a fast, skilled painter who takes pride in a clean, durable finish? Can you prep a surface right, follow a spec exactly, and keep pieces moving—day in, day out?
Escapology builds immersive escape rooms that thousands of players step into every week. We’re a fast-moving production workshop, not a slow studio—and we’re hiring a skilled Production Painter & Finisher who takes as much pride in pace and consistency as in quality. In this hands-on role, you’ll prep, paint, and finish our props and sets by following our paint instructions and finishing recipes precisely, delivering durable, repeatable results that keep build schedules on track.
Come from construction or commercial painting? Automotive or autobody refinishing? Cabinet, furniture, or product finishing? Sets, props, or restoration work? If you paint fast, clean, and to spec, we want to talk—and we’ll train you on the thematic and faux-finishing techniques that make our worlds come to life.
Your Role on the Production Floor
- Build to the Spec Sheet: Follow the detailed paint instructions for every element in the room—each prop, panel, and piece has its own colors, layers, and finish—getting each one right the first time so nothing comes back for rework.
- Prep It Right: Sand, fill, mask, and prime surfaces for a clean, durable base—using hand and power tools like sanders and Dremels to shape and distress efficiently, keeping every piece moving toward its final coat.
- Paint to Spec, On Schedule: Apply paint, coatings, and texturing techniques to create a range of finishes—from clean, even coats to faux effects like aged wood, rusted metal, stone, and marble—delivering finished pieces within build timelines.
- Follow the Recipe, Hit the Mark: Mix and blend paints, glazes, and additives to precise specifications. Match our color and finish standards consistently and get it right on the first pass, every time.
- Keep the Line Moving: Work alongside our builders and production teams to hit deadlines. Manage your time, prioritize throughput, and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop.
- Grow With Production: As production needs shift, cross-train and step into broader workshop tasks—supporting projects, assisting across teams, and contributing wherever your skills add the most value.
- Sitewide Responsibilities: Take part in company-wide initiatives, projects, and operational duties that keep the facility running at its best, supporting other departments as the needs of the business dictate.
