D.A.V. Electric, LLC is a Crystal River, Florida based Federal, Commercial, and Industrial Electrical Contractor seeking a full-time Electrical Estimator who is detail-oriented, career-minded, and desires to work with a successful and growing company. D.A.V. is looking for an individual who is creative and resourceful and utilizes information for planning and meeting the objective results. An Electrical Estimatoris responsible for helping identify new business opportunities and preparing and overseeing the preparation of estimates for mid-size to large construction projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and communication skills and be able to interact effectively with internal and external entities at all levels.
Electrical Estimator Responsibilities
· Proactively identify and evaluate new business opportunities, potential subcontractors, and material vendors.
· Develop and maintain professional relationships with general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
· Meet with general contractors and clients to further understand project scope and special requirements.
· Analyze and review drawings, specifications, and scope of work to provide accurate cost projections to Operations Manager and submit proposals to clients upon approval.
- Visit job sites to obtain information needed for scope definition, site conditions, and estimating information.
- Prepare and develop detailed scope documents, Requests for Proposals (RFP’s), Requests for Information (RFI’s), vendor and subcontractor quotes, and detailed estimates.
- Conduct pre-bid, post-bid, and project turnover meetings.
- Compile, organize, and present information to operations team, clients, and senior management team.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market factors (pricing, materials, labor, etc.).
- Utilize internal systems and software to maintain documentation and information utilized to develop estimates.
- Periodically update pricing, create assemblies, and add specialized systems to Conest estimating software.
· Follow up on proposals submitted and provide regular updates to the Operations Manager.
· Maintain a list of proposals submitted including values of proposals, status of award, and feedback from clients.
Electrical Estimator Qualifications
- Prior experience estimating multi-million electrical commercial, industrial, and federal projects of up to $5M.
- Must have experience estimating Design-Build projects, industrial projects, and low volt systems (experience estimating fire alarm, mass notification, and building automation projects is a plus).
- Extensive experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Projects, and professional estimating programs (Conest experience is a plus, but training can be provided).
- Must be focused and committed to accuracy, pay attention to detail, and be proactive in pointing out potential issues and potential solutions.
- Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to prepare detailed reports as needed by the Operations Manager.
- Must pass a thorough background check and be granted access to power generation facilities, military bases, and airports.
- Must have a clean, valid driver’s license and be able to travel as needed.
