Staff Accountant

High Speed Gear | Corporate Headquarters — Swansboro, NC

Full-Time · On-Site

Founded in 1999 as a custom shop building gear for Marines at Camp Lejeune, High Speed Gear has grown into one of the largest full-time employers in Swansboro and the flagship of a family of trusted brands. We design and manufacture 100% American-made, battle-proven tactical gear for the military, law enforcement, and responsibly armed citizens—and we back every product with a lifetime warranty.

We're looking for a reliable, detail-driven Staff Accountant to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters. As a member of the team, you'll help keep our financial operations accurate and on schedule while working closely with a collaborative accounting team to meet the shared deadlines and goals. In addition to the recurring tasks, there are opportunities for project-based work to implement new processes and improve existing ones.

What You'll Do

Reconcile bank accounts and report daily cash transactions.
Perform month-end close, including account reconciliations and financial statement reporting.
Track and analyze product and manufacturing costs, supporting inventory valuation, standard costing, and margin analysis.
Assist in overseeing physical inventory counts. Reconcile physical inventory counts and valuations.
Support all aspects of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and invoicing as needed.
Serve as backup for the weekly check run.
Participate in annual audit process and assist in responding to auditor requests.
Manage fixed assets and depreciation.
Perform data analysis to support business decisions.
Assist with general office management as needed.

What You'll Bring

A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or active progress toward one).
3+ years of experience in accounting or finance preferred.
A solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
Excellent computer skills, with strong proficiency in Excel.
Familiarity with accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or QuickBooks is a plus.
A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong time-management skills.
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, plus professional presentation and conduct.
