Job Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Deck Builder / Carpenter to take a lead role in constructing high-quality decks and outdoor structures. This is a hands-on position that requires advanced carpentry skills, leadership ability, and a strong eye for detail. You’ll manage and mentor junior team members while ensuring projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the construction of custom decks and exterior features from start to finish
Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and project plans
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety protocols, and company standards
Operate a variety of power and hand tools
Mentor and supervise apprentices or junior carpenters
Communicate with clients, project managers, and team members effectively
Troubleshoot on-site issues and adapt to project changes as needed
Maintain a clean and organized worksite

Requirements

5+ years of experience in carpentry, with a strong background in deck construction
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
Skilled in framing, layout, stair building, railing systems, and finish carpentry
Familiarity with composite decking materials (e.g., Deckorators, Trex, TimberTech) is a plus
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
OSHA certification or willingness to obtain
