Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and results-driven General Sales Manager to lead our automotive sales team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of sales operations, develop strategic initiatives to boost revenue, and foster a high-performance sales environment. Your leadership will inspire your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences while achieving and surpassing sales targets. This position offers the opportunity to shape the future of our dealership’s success through innovative sales strategies, effective team management, and outstanding client engagement.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the automotive sales team, providing coaching, motivation, and performance evaluations to maximize productivity.
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to increase market share and meet or exceed sales goals across passenger car and high-end vehicle segments.
Oversee the entire sales pipeline, from prospecting new clients through outbound cold calling and B2B outreach to closing high-value deals.
Build strong customer relationships by understanding client needs, offering tailored solutions, including automotive financing options, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Manage inventory control and support inventory management processes to align with sales objectives while maintaining optimal stock levels.
Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to track leads, monitor sales activities, and analyze performance metrics for continuous improvement.
Conduct regular training sessions on sales negotiation, upselling techniques, phone etiquette, and effective communication skills for the team.
Organize public speaking engagements and dealership events to promote brand visibility and attract new clients.
Collaborate with the service department on customer relationship building initiatives that enhance loyalty and retention.
Ensure compliance with all dealership policies, industry regulations, and safety standards while maintaining a professional appearance at all times.

Qualifications

3+ years of proven experience in automotive industry sales management or dealership leadership roles with a strong track record of achieving sales targets.
Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively while maintaining positive client relationships.
Multilingual abilities are highly desirable to communicate with diverse customer bases effectively; bilingual skills are a plus.
Demonstrated expertise in managing a sales pipeline using CRM software; proficiency in CRM systems supported by technical support is preferred.
Strong organizational skills with an aptitude for inventory management, retail math, and retail operations analysis.
Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and polished public speaking capabilities.
Experience in outbound cold calling, upselling strategies, and customer service excellence within automotive or retail environments.
Ability to lead a team through motivation, coaching, and performance management while fostering a collaborative work environment.
