Position Summary

Whether assisting a first-time buyer, evaluating a firearm for purchase or trade, helping a lifelong enthusiast, or assisting customers utilizing our indoor shooting range, every interaction should be built on professionalism, honesty, and respect.
Guntenders are trusted not only to sell products, but also to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to accurately assess and purchase used firearms, assist customers with range needs, and make decisions that are fair to the customer while protecting the profitability and reputation of Liberty Tree Guns. These skills will be developed through our internal training program, allowing team members to grow their expertise and confidence over time.
Primary Responsibilities
- Welcome every customer promptly and create a positive first impression.
- Guide customers through firearm, ammunition, optic, accessory, suppressor, and range-related purchases.
- Educate customers on safe firearm handling, responsible ownership, and proper use of firearms and equipment.
- Maintain expert-level product knowledge and continue developing knowledge of new inventory, manufacturers, and industry trends.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately, including ATF Form 4473 and all applicable federal, state, and company compliance requirements.
- Ensure all firearm sales, transfers, and acquisitions comply with company policies and applicable laws.
- Assist customers with consignments, ship-to-store orders, and firearm-related questions.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and purchase used firearms and trade-ins after completing Liberty Tree Guns' internal training program by assessing condition, functionality, market demand, and current value.
- Develop the ability to make accurate purchasing decisions that provide value to customers while supporting company profitability.
- Assist customers utilizing Liberty Tree Guns' indoor shooting range by providing a safe, welcoming, and professional experience.
- Help educate customers on range rules, safety procedures, and proper firearm handling.
- Support range operations, including customer questions, range rentals, memberships, and maintaining a clean and organized range environment.
- Work safely and professionally in an environment where firearms are regularly handled and discharged.
- Merchandise firearms and accessories to keep displays clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Participate in receiving inventory, pricing, labeling, and stocking merchandise.
- Keep the sales floor, range areas, and customer spaces clean, organized, and ready for customers.
- Work with teammates to accomplish daily goals and provide outstanding customer experiences.
- Answer phones, emails, and customer inquiries professionally.
- Assist with opening, closing, and daily operational tasks.

Qualifications
- Must be legally eligible to possess firearms.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to learn firearm platforms, optics, ammunition, accessories, range operations, and current market values.
- Ability to safely handle firearms according to company policy.
- Willingness to complete Liberty Tree Guns' internal training program to develop skills in firearm evaluation, purchasing, compliance, and range operations.
- Comfortable working inside an active indoor shooting range environment.
- Ability to follow all range safety procedures, including the proper use of required eye and hearing protection.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Retail, firearm industry, range, or firearm appraisal experience is preferred but not required.
