Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting the organization’s financial health through accurate record-keeping and analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, experience with QuickBooks software, and a passion for maintaining precise financial records. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking organization committed to excellence and integrity in financial management.

Duties

Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using QuickBooks.
Conduct monthly account analysis, account reconciliation, and detailed data entry to maintain up-to-date financial records.
Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Perform special projects related to non-profit accounting, or technical accounting as needed.

Skills

Experience with the QuickBooks accounting system.
Strong understanding of GAAP principles and governmental accounting standards
Proficiency in Excel data analysis, financial concepts, and data entry techniques including 10 key typing and double-entry bookkeeping.
Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable management skills.
Ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis accurately.
Familiarity with tax regulations and experience in tax preparation or compliance is a plus.
Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and supporting audit processes.
