We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the financial operations of our growing multi-unit restaurant company. This position is responsible for leading all financial functions of the organization, supporting ownership with financial planning and decision-making, and helping drive operational success across multiple restaurant locations.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Experience in hospitality, restaurant, retail, or other multi-unit operations is strongly preferred.
Position Summary
The CFO will oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, payroll oversight, banking relationships, and financial strategy for the company. This role works closely with ownership and operations leadership to ensure financial stability, profitability, compliance, and long-term growth.
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting and financial operations for a multi-unit restaurant group
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Develop annual budgets and ongoing financial forecasts
- Monitor company cash flow, profitability, and operating expenses
- Manage banking relationships, loans, lines of credit, and financial negotiations
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processes, and general ledger activity
- Review and approve financial reporting accuracy and reconciliations
- Analyze sales trends, labor costs, food costs, and operational performance metrics
- Provide ownership with strategic financial recommendations and operational insights
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
- Coordinate with outside accountants, auditors, insurance providers, and tax professionals
- Develop and improve financial controls, reporting systems, and operational procedures
- Assist with vendor negotiations, lease reviews, and financial planning for new projects or expansion opportunities
- Support department managers and operational leadership with financial education and accountability
- Monitor and improve overall company financial health and profitability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus, but not required
- Minimum 5 years of financial leadership experience preferred
- Experience with restaurants, hospitality, retail, or other multi-unit operations strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software systems Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
