Part-Time Tax Preparer (Year-Round)

The Role

We're hiring a year-round, part-time Tax Preparer to join our team in office. This isn't a seasonal gig — we need someone who's in it with us throughout the year, handling a diverse mix of returns for a client base we genuinely love serving.

Schedule: Monday–Friday | Approximately 20–29 hours per week | During business hours

What You'll Be Doing

Preparing individual (1040), S-Corporation (1120-S), and Partnership (1065) tax returns and other returns as needed
Gathering and organizing client financial documents with care and precision
Identifying applicable deductions, credits, and tax-saving opportunities
Communicating with clients in a professional, warm, and timely manner to gather missing info or clarify details
Ensuring all returns are fully compliant with current federal and state tax laws
Keeping client files accurate, organized, and audit-ready

What We're Looking For

Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on tax preparation experience, specifically with 1040, 1120-S, and 1065 returns — this is a must
Solid, working knowledge of federal and state tax codes and regulations
Proficiency in professional tax software — UltraTax preferred; experience with Drake, ProSeries, or similar also considered
Active PTIN required; EA, CPA, or CPA candidate strongly preferred
Someone who communicates well — with clients and teammates
Strong attention to detail (we mean it — the IRS doesn't grade on a curve)
Ability to manage deadlines independently without hand-holding
Must be able to work on-site at our Las Vegas office

Compensation

$18–$40/hr, depending on experience and credentials
