Location: North Lima Community Health Center - BRAND NEW BUILDING

The Pharmacy Site Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the pharmacy within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care. This role oversees pharmacy staff, regulatory compliance, inventory management, and clinical pharmacy services while supporting the organization's mission to provide accessible healthcare to underserved populations. The Pharmacy Site Manager collaborates closely with medical and administrative teams to optimize patient outcomes, enhance service excellence, and promote efficient pharmacy operations.

POSITION PURPOSE

This position will practice within the scope defined by the Ohio professional licensing board. The Pharmacy Site Manager will work with patients, providers, and other members of the health care team to provide patients with appropriate and beneficial comprehensive pharmacy services. The Pharmacy Site Manager will serve as the responsible pharmacist for their primary practice location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

Maintain the ability to serve as the responsible person/pharmacist for designated practice location’s dispensing pharmacy TDDD license with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy. (RESPONSIBLE PERSON duties by rule definition Rule 4729-5-11)
Complete all duties as necessary to maintain the designated pharmacy site’s TDDD license in active and good standing with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
Responsible for maintaining daily operations of the designated pharmacy including but not limited to: scheduling technicians, inventory, supplies, customer service, workflow, process improvements, dispensing software maintenance within the scope of daily practice and updates, etc.
Serve as supervisor of the pharmacy technicians, staff pharmacists, students, residents, and ancillary pharmacy staff at their site.
Complete requested monthly reports as requested by Director of Pharmacy Services.
Act as a community pharmacy preceptor for pharmacy students and residents and complete duties as necessary to serve in this role.
Attend organizational meetings as requested by supervisor including but not limited to staff meetings, provider meetings, department meetings, Residency Committee meetings, Pharmacy &Therapeutics committee, some of which may occasionally be immediately before or after normal work hours.
Attend various conferences and learning activities as requested by HPWO and/or as approved thru individual CE expense budget.
Provides patient visits via Telemedicine/Telehealth.
Fulfill staffing duties in the clinical pharmacy area as needed, comply with all internal and external policies and regulations pertaining to such responsibility, and maintain privileging and competency to work within scope of practice for medication therapy management and disease state management on an individual patient and or group level.
Effectively and accurately documents in patient’s electronic medical record as it pertains to job duties, both clinical and dispensing following HPWO policy and billing practices and all other state and federal regulations.
Adheres to all HPWO standards and policies including the Organizational Privacy/Security and Compliance Programs, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, OIG, guidelines, and other State and Federal laws). This also includes reporting to the Board of Directors, Compliance Officer, Privacy Officer, supervisor or suggestion box, any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or practices.
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, personnel, nursing, medical, and clerical policies and procedures as they pertain to pharmacist duties.
Maintains an awareness of developments in the community and pharmaceutical fields related to job responsibilities and integrates them into practice.
Participates in Quality Improvement activities.
Assists in training new employees.
Responds to crisis situations according to policy.
Works as a member of the healthcare team by providing consultation and education to medical, dental and behavioral health and support staff regarding pharmaceutical utilization and other topics as needed.
Establishes and maintains professional working relationship with other members of the health care team and facility personnel.
Maintains knowledge of loss prevention techniques and ensures security of the pharmacy and inventory at all times while working as a dispensing pharmacist.
Utilizes designated software programs to obtain and document all pertinent and legally required information to compound and or prepare, dispenses, and perform drug utilization review for all prescription orders issued by authorized medical providers in accordance with all local, state, federal, and company regulations.
Perform Inventory management including but not limited to placing orders, auditing supplies, updating pricing, adjusting on hand levels of stock, verifying invoices within the scope of job duties.
Ability to temporarily staff any service location of the HPWO Pharmacy Department in the event of staff shortages, while being compensated for travel between the primary work site and the temporary work site.
Immediately notifies Director of Pharmacy Services of any instances that may affect the status of this individual’s license to practice pharmacy in the state of Ohio or meet the standards of conduct of HPWO.
Completes all other duties as necessary within the scope of this position as requested by the Director of Pharmacy Services.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Degree from an accredited school of pharmacy and current Pharmacy License in the State of Ohio.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Successful completion of in-house training.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Experience in a supervisory position preferred
CPR – BLS (basic life support) required.
Completion of an accredited pharmacy residency program; or equivalent work experience preferred.
Current License in good standing with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy
Ability to act as a preceptor for pharmacy students and/or pharmacy residents preferred.
Ability to serve in the role of the responsible pharmacist.
Professional demeanor
Ability to respect confidentiality of patient data
Strong communication skills
Knowledge of insurance and third-party payment systems preferred.
Ability to work as a team member.
Computer experience.
Ability to work with a culturally diverse group of people.
Must be willing to work flexible hours as required by position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily sedentary, demanding sitting, walking, lifting, and bending. Those physical movements and the degree of mobility, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination commonly associated with duties in an office setting will be performed repetitively.
