Chief Development Officer, Full Time

POSITION TITLE: Chief Development Officer

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

SCHEDULE: Full Time; Exempt

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Martin House Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) provides comprehensive, restorative services to child victims of abuse and their non-offending caregivers utilizing a collaborative, multidisciplinary team approach. We partner with law enforcement, Child Protective Services, and the district attorney’s offices in the counties we serve to optimize child abuse intervention and justice outcomes. The Chief Development Officer is a dynamic, strategic leader responsible for managing all fundraising initiatives, cultivating and stewarding donor relations and major gifts, coordinating special events, enhancing community and public relations, and managing marketing plans to advance the mission of The Martin House CAC, expand our community impact, and secure sustainable financial growth. The ideal candidate is passionate about non-profit management and thrives in a fast-paced environment dedicated to making a difference. Irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, are required as necessary.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Create and execute innovative fundraising strategies to meet the agency’s fundraising goals;
Plan and organize impactful annual giving campaigns, fundraising activities, grant writing, digital marketing campaigns, and special events;
Supervise and lead development staff and volunteers;
Identify and cultivate potential financial supporters and strengthen relationships with current individual and corporate donors;
Develop and manage marketing and social media plans including press releases, social media posts, blogs, newsletters, etc.;
Serve as the Development liaison to the Board of Directors;
Oversee the CAC’s donor software and related apps to ensure secure, accurate donor information, giving history, and communication records are tracked;
Actively promote the CAC’s purpose and programs to corporate leaders, civic groups, and community organizations;
Represent the CAC at social service networking coalitions or community outreach events;
Compose and submit grant proposals and funding reports under the direction of the CEO;
Travel within Gregg, Harrison, Marion and Upshur counties regularly; travel out of town and overnight occasionally;
Attend trainings and conferences as required;
Other duties as assigned by the CEO

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferably in public relations, marketing, non-profit management or related field, plus 5 years’ relevant fundraising, donor relations, and staff management experience. Must be a polished professional and team leader that possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, works well independently and in a team environment, meets strict deadlines, is extremely organized, proficient in utilizing various platforms and apps, and remains mission-focused to help children and families. Prior success in grant writing, contract management, capital campaigns or fundraising is required. Must have high professional and ethical standards and be committed to embracing diverse populations and other cultures. Outstanding attendance, punctuality, and work history required; professional references must be provided. Clear criminal and DFPS background check required.
