SHIFT SUPERVISOR
JOB SUMMARY
- Pay: $20.00/hour

This is a working supervisor roles — you'll spend most of your shift in the field with your team, verifying their work and stepping in when it matters most. You will supervise our safety, cleaning, and maintenance ambassadors as they work in the field.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Team Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Ambassadors during your shift, providing direction, support, and accountability
- Open each shift by sharing the daily work plan, assigning zones, reviewing the schedule, and inspecting uniforms and appearance
- Ensure Ambassadors have the equipment, supplies, and information needed to do their jobs, and that equipment is inspected before use
- Check in with Ambassadors throughout the shift, correcting issues and providing real-time coaching
- Train new hires and deliver ongoing training in line with company policy and local requirements
- Guide the team during emergencies, including evacuation support and knowing which emergency services to contact
- Act as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the Operations Manager
Quality Assurance & Inspections
- Conduct observation patrols to verify Ambassadors are in their assigned zones and performing to customer and Streetplus standards
- Ensure staff adheres to shift priorities and approved procedures
- Identify, report, and correct conditions that adversely impact the district
- Review reports submitted by your team for accuracy and completeness
- Recommend improvements to policies and procedures based on what you observe in the field
Safety & Incident Response
- Maintain a visible, uniformed presence in the district to deter unwanted behavior
- Step in on serious incidents, de-escalating confrontational or high-stress situations with calm, confident communication
- Respond to trespassing calls and ensure suspicious activity is investigated immediately
- Maintain working knowledge of local ordinances related to quality-of-life issues, including public intoxication, public urination, open container, loitering, trespassing, and panhandling
- Record the time, location, and nature of unusual, suspicious, or illegal activity and report to your manager
Community & Reporting
- Build goodwill through daily contact with business owners, property managers, and stakeholders
- Greet pedestrians, offer directions, and assist visitors, residents, and workers
- Interact respectfully with unhoused individuals and connect them with available local resources
- Document and report incidents, observations, and completed tasks via smartphone and two-way radio
Ambassador-Level Tasks
- Step in to perform Ambassador duties as needed — patrols, litter pickup, and light cleaning
- Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and valid state identification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to de-escalate confrontational or high-stress situations
- Ability to operate equipment including bicycles, vehicles, and cleaning equipment
- Physical ability to walk continuously throughout an 8-hour shift with breaks in accordance with local laws
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
- Ability to exercise self-control in interactions with distraught, disturbed, or intoxicated individuals
- Basic smartphone proficiency
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment
Preferred (not required)
- Prior supervisory experience in security, loss prevention, law enforcement, military, hospitality, or facilities maintenance
- Prior experience with janitorial, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance operations
- First Aid training or certification
- Customer service or hospitality experience
