Hours/FTE: 1.0 FTE/8 hours per day; Probationary
Salary: $24.52 - $30.25 *2025-26 salary schedule (2026-27 salary schedule to be determined)
JOB SUMMARY
Provide support for computers, servers, related technology, and associated services. The emphasis of this position is end-user technical support. Work involves analysis of core technical competencies and agency policies and procedures. Work is characterized by ability to make independent decisions that align project objectives with department and agency goals. Performs duties with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Consult with users on their hardware and software needs.
2. Install, maintain and support computer software and hardware.
3. Install, maintain and support other hardware, software, and information services, including: Directory, mail, and file servers; Storage, imaging and backup solutions; and custom applications.
4. Ensure effective use of software, hardware and information services throughout user group.
5. Maintain inventory of hardware, peripherals, and software licenses.
6. Develop and deliver instruction and documentation on the effective use of software and hardware.
7. Troubleshoot software and hardware issues over the telephone and in person for students and staff District wide.
8. Set-up, configure and install new computers including traveling to various District sites and transporting equipment.
9. Install and troubleshoot other District wide technology (projectors, etc.).
10. Research and implement solutions to technology problems.
11. Provide onsite services to set-up computer and provides basic computer orientation.
12. Provide user training on a variety of technology issues.
13. Maintain records on the configuration, installation, warranty, licenses, and allocation of computer software, hardware, and/or network systems.
14. Support building staffs in the appropriate and effective use of computer systems and software.
15. Conduct training with staff on the use of software and hardware
16. Evaluate, recommend, and engineer installations of computers and software on desktop computers.
17. Evaluate, recommend and support other hardware, software, and information services.
18. Effectively manage complex projects by determining project prerequisites, establishing security specifications, setting milestones, managing time lines, and identifying human and technical resources.
19. Keeps up with current trends and trainings.
20. Serves as resource to staff in answering questions and assisting in effective utilization of District technology.
21. Maintains confidentiality and integrity of electronic records.
22. While working collaboratively with others, implements decisions within ASD established policies and procedures.
23. Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
24. Works collaboratively with District and building administrators and other department staff to provide reliable service to customers.
25. Communicate clearly with coworkers and other staff.
26. Participate as an effective team member.
27. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of available computer software and computer usage in schools; upgrades computer skills as needed.
28. Follows and maintains knowledge of all applicable District policies and procedures.
29. Attends work regularly and is punctual.
30. While working collaboratively with other, implements decisions within ASD established policies and procedures.
31. Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. The equivalent combination of experience, training, certification, education or degree that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be used as an alternative to prerequisites. 1. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required. A+ or MCP Certification preferred; or four years related experience providing technical assistance. Prior experience in computer systems analysis, programming, or other similarly skilled work preferred. Prior customer service experience especially related to help desk, network set-up and troubleshooting strongly preferred. One year successful experience at IT Support Specialist II or equivalent successful work experience required.
2. Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication. Values and ensures inclusion of all voices. Works well with diverse communities; focuses on resolving conflict; maintaining confidentiality; listening without interrupting; remains calm and open to others in tense or difficult situations. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to identify a problem and identify a solution.
3. Computer Skills: Must have demonstrated computer competency in wide spectrum of functions. The department may have certain individuals specialize, but everyone needs to have the ability to provide support for the District technology programs including demonstrated ability to learn and apply computer technology skills rapidly.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others including understanding and being understood. While much of the work will be completed in an office environment, the employee will need to move between buildings, visiting sites throughout the district. This position requires use of a variety of digital systems, software, and hardware. This position may require some travel outside the district.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate, but occasionally high depending upon the situation. While the work is regularly completed indoors, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions. Employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens.
