Job Description and Duties

Under general direction of the Field Division Manager, incumbent is responsible for budgeting, planning, directing, organizing, and controlling all engineering activities of the Civil and Electrical/Mechanical Engineering units of the San Luis Field Division. Oversees and directs the operations and maintenance activities for the Engineering Branch relating to the issuance and review of preventive maintenance schedules and programs, and coordinates all engineering activities with Division of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) headquarter staff, DOE, USBR, and local water districts. Decisions with far-reaching implications will sometimes be required without time for detailed consideration. Incumbent will perform duties utilizing computer-related programs and SAP transactions.

Special Requirements

We are seeking an individual with a Professional Engineer (PE) License who can maintain a positive attitude, be dependable, and responsible with strong supervisory and management skills. Experience with powerplant operations, project management, emergency response/Incident Command Team (ICT) activities, and budgeting is highly desirable. The successful candidate will write and communicate effectively and tactfully; analyze situations accurately, draw correct conclusions, and take effective action; maintain objectivity and effectively manage and resolve conflicts and urgent situations; and have the ability to travel to State Water Project locations and inspect facilities.
