Full Job Description

Compensation and Incentives

Core Responsibilities

Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by adhering to all OSHA and environmental standards.
Diagnose and fix stamping dies, whether they are currently in the press or located in the toolroom.
Examine technical requirements and arrange metal materials for necessary tooling adjustments or fixes.
Configure and utilize machine tools to restore dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and cutting implements.
Assemble and align components using manual and power tools to construct or modify tooling equipment.
Execute TIG or MIG welding tasks to assist in the restoration or reconstruction of tool steel parts.
Improve part nesting and minimize surface wear by spotting and polishing specific die details.
Ensure accuracy of dimensions and tolerances by utilizing precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
Analyze complex blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) data, and technical models.
Foster clear and consistent communication with both maintenance and production departments.
Complete various other tasks as directed by leadership or management.

Required Qualifications

Certification as a Journeyman Tool and Die maker is highly desirable.
At least four years of relevant work history or graduation from a recognized trade school.
Demonstrate strong mechanical skills and a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in analyzing and understanding technical drawings and GD&T standards.
Proven ability to operate machinist equipment and precision measurement devices.
Capacity to comprehend and execute both written and spoken directives.
Must be a minimum of 18 years old.

Physical Requirements

Maintain the ability to stand, walk, and manipulate tools or equipment for extended periods.
Regularly lift or transport objects weighing as much as 50 pounds.
Occasionally perform movements such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
Possess the necessary visual acuity, including depth perception and color vision, to perform precise tasks.

Work Environment

Operate within a manufacturing facility featuring active stamping machinery and mechanical components.
Occasional exposure to electrical systems, airborne particles, or industrial fumes.
High noise levels are common; hearing protection is supplied and mandatory.
Protective eyewear is provided and must be worn at all times.
Requirement to wear steel-toed footwear while on the production floor.
