Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team in a dynamic fine dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, with experience in food handling and kitchen management. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in menu planning, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure skill development and teamwork.
Participate in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels to minimize waste.
Ensure proper food handling practices are followed at all times to maintain food safety standards.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy dining periods.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to sanitation guidelines.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant setting.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food handling practices, and kitchen equipment.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff effectively.
Experience in menu planning and inventory control is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
