Position Overview
Seeking a Controller who reports to the Managing member/Owner and Chief Executive Officer, establishes and monitors compliance with financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. Enforces internal controls to protect the assets of the company. Assures the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of company financial data, to include monthly and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statement). Provides cost data to support management decisions. Reviews, analyzes, and presents financial and cost data to owners, management, lenders, auditors, tax preparers, and regulatory authorities. Prepare financial statement forecasts as needed, ensure adequate cash will be available for operating and other obligations.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
· Prepare financial statements, forecasts & budgets
- Assure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of monthly and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement).
- Review, analyze, and present financial and cost data to owners, management, lenders, auditors, tax preparers, and regulatory authorities.
- Execute monthly bank account reconciliations, resolve account anomalies, and manage stop payments.
- Maintain banking relationships, monitor operating/payroll accounts, and evaluate credit requirements (credit cards, lines of credit, financing equipment).
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Review and approve weekly payroll, labor hour data, wages, deductions and payroll federal and state taxes.
- Ensure timely payment of federal and state payroll taxes; file quarterly/annual returns, W-2s, and ACA Forms 1094-C and 1095-C.
- Administer the company 401(k) plan as Trustee, managing contributions, distributions, hardship withdrawals, and annual government testing (ADP/ACP) data submission for Form 5500-SF.
- Oversee the group medical insurance plan, review and negotiate competing proposals.
Risk Management & Commercial Insurance
- Procure and maintain adequate commercial insurance coverage (General Liability, Property, Auto, Umbrella, Workers' Comp).
- Coordinate all liability, property, auto, and workers' compensation claims with agents and adjusters.
- Manage construction defect claims with insurance providers and legal counsel through settlement.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with company and customer insurance rules and issue certificates of insurance (COI).
- Coordinate annual workers' compensation and general liability insurance audits.
Credit, Contracts, & Legal Compliance
- Establish criteria for customers to open credit accounts, evaluate creditworthiness, and communicate credit decisions.
- Review terms, analyze risks, and interpret clauses for master construction contracts, building leases, and service/vendor agreements.
- Administer installer subcontracts and facility lease agreements; maintain all contract records.
- Coordinate legal matters with company attorneys regarding lawsuits, complaints, contracts, and customer bankruptcies.
- Maintain the company safety program, draft Illness and Injury Prevention Programs (IIPP), track training records, and handle OSHA inquiries.
- Complete and respond to all mandatory government surveys and economic/labor censuses (e.g., BLS, US Census Bureau, Dept. of Commerce).
Banking Relationships
· Maintain relationships with banks to include monitoring payroll and operating accounts.
· Evaluates the requirement for credit, to include credit cards, establishing credit card distribution and limits, lines of credit, and asset purchase financing.

Position Requirements
Education & Experience
- Degree: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Core Experience: 10+ years of experience in cost and manufacturing accounting.
- Management Experience: 5+ years of experience at a management or higher leadership level.
- Certification: Meeting the requirements to obtain a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is highly preferred and serves as excellent evidence of qualification.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
