Full Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our dynamic culinary team at an assisted living facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for preparing delicious dishes and a commitment to maintaining high-quality food service.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook food according to recipes from dietician and follow the monthly meal schedule
- Follow menu planning and preparation guidelines to ensure timely and efficient food service.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen space, adhering to proper food handling and safety procedures.
- Assist with food service during peak hours, ensuring that dishes are delivered promptly and in room meals are delivered and recorded
- Follow meal plan for special needs diets.
- Utilize knife skills to chop, dice, and mince ingredients as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless food preparation and service.

Experience:

-must have ServSAfe certification
- Previous experience in the food industry, preferably in a long term care facility.
- Proven track record of preparing high-quality dishes and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with menu planning and food service procedures.
- Ability to work safely in a kitchen setting and with all kitchen equipment and utiensils

- Experience in the food industry.
- Knowledge of food handling and safety procedures.
- Ability to create and follow recipes and menu plans.
- Proficiency in food preparation and presentation.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
