Social Services Director:

$34–36/hr DOE

Senior Haven is seeking a full-time Social Services Director to join our leadership team. This role blends social services coordination with financial oversight and revenue management. We are looking for a highly organized, financially savvy professional who is confident, persistent, and professional when ensuring timely collection of resident funds and state payments.

We are a special contract residential care facility designed and staffed uniquely for residents who have failed placement elsewhere due to complex behaviors and/or medical needs.

Position Overview:

The Social Services Director is responsible for overseeing resident financial coordination, state funding processes, and offering social service resources to our residents. This role works closely with Case Managers, APD, payees, families, and internal teams to ensure residents maintain benefits, meet financial obligations, and receive appropriate services.

This position requires strong organizational skills, proficient computer skills, and comfortability navigating spreadsheets. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, accountable, and confident in professionally pursuing outstanding balances while maintaining positive relationships.

General Responsibilities

Financial & Revenue Management:

Oversee resident rent collection, including state funding and private pay accounts.
Coordinate with APD, case managers, representative payees, and families to ensure timely and accurate payments.
Track receivables using Excel and internal systems; maintain accurate financial records.
Reconcile resident accounts and assist with billing discrepancies.
Follow up consistently and professionally on outstanding balances; communicate clearly regarding financial obligations.
Assist residents in maintaining and retaining public benefits and funding sources.
Support cross-placement funding coordination and state contract requirements.

Social Services & Coordination:

Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide needed services, linkage, and coordination.
Develop rapport with individuals facing complex behavioral and medical barriers.
Complete needs assessments and assist in development of recovery or service plans.
Assist residents with legal and financial matters, including representative payee services, benefit applications, identification, guardianship processes, and court coordination.
Coordinate with behavioral health, legal, medical, and community partners.
Support admission, transition, and discharge planning.
Advocate for residents and support them in learning self-advocacy skills.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation in compliance with program standards and HIPAA requirements.
Assist with access to vocational, educational, and recovery support services.
Support positive family communication and engagement.

Education & Experience:

Associate’s Degree in Behavioral Health, Health Sciences, Business, Accounting, or related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for education.
Some level of accounting, bookkeeping, billing, or revenue cycle experience required.
Experience with state funding systems, APD, cross-placement processes, and public benefit programs strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Previous experience in a residential care or behavioral health setting preferred.
Previous experience supervising or leading staff is preferred.
