Portland, OR – Fiber Optic Splicer / Fiber Repair Technician

Location: Portland, OR
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: First Shift

Position Overview

Tek One Solutions is seeking experienced Fiber Optic Splicers and Fiber Repair Technicians to support commercial technology and enterprise network infrastructure projects in the Portland, OR area. This is a direct hire opportunity with a leading technology solutions provider supporting mission-critical fiber optic networks in high-availability environments.

The ideal candidate will have experience with fiber optic splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and restoration while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and workmanship. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex fiber infrastructure supporting enterprise and hyperscale technology environments.

Primary Responsibilities

Perform fusion splicing of single-mode, multimode, ribbon, and high-count fiber optic cables
Pull, prepare, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic infrastructure
Perform emergency fiber repairs and planned maintenance activities
Troubleshoot fiber optic connectivity issues using industry-standard testing equipment
Interpret OTDR traces, loss measurements, and fiber test results
Install, maintain, and repair fiber optic distribution systems
Prepare splice closures, optical distribution frames (ODFs), and fiber enclosures
Maintain organized cable management and proper labeling standards
Document testing results, splice records, and project completion reports
Coordinate with project managers, field technicians, and engineering teams
Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices while working in live network environments

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with commercial or enterprise fiber optic installations
Proficiency with fusion splicing of single-mode and multimode fiber
Experience with ribbon fiber and high-count fiber systems preferred
Ability to perform fiber testing using OTDRs, power meters, and light sources
Familiarity with optical distribution frames (ODFs), splice enclosures, and telecommunications infrastructure
Experience working in commercial buildings, technology facilities, or enterprise environments
Ability to read construction drawings and fiber optic documentation
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
