About the Role
The Utility Vegetation Management Business Analyst supports vegetation management operations through data analysis, reporting, and systems-driven operational support.
This position serves as a key liaison between field operations, management, and administrative teams by providing data-driven insights, performance reporting, workforce planning support, and operational analytics to drive efficient execution of vegetation management programs.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of leveraging data, systems, and reporting tools to deliver actionable insights that support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop, maintain, and distribute recurring operational, financial, and performance reports.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Create automated dashboards, scorecards, and KPI reporting using Excel and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Salesforce, etc.) for management and field leadership.
- Monitor operational metrics and provide recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and resource utilization.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and workload analysis activities.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, Power Query, lookups, and data modeling) to build scalable and repeatable reporting solutions.
Operational Support
- Partner with field leadership and operations management to support daily operational planning and execution.
- Assist with workload prioritization, resource allocation, and scheduling coordination to meet business objectives.
- Track work completion, productivity, and operational performance against established goals and targets.
- Support operational reviews and management meetings through data preparation and presentation development.
- Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
- Support integration and use of operational systems and tools to improve data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
Business Process Improvement
- Evaluate existing operational workflows and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and standardization.
- Document business processes, procedures, and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement process improvements.
- Support change management initiatives and operational best practices.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Identify opportunities to improve data flow, reporting automation, and system utilization.
Administrative & Coordination Support
- Coordinate communications between field personnel, operations leadership, and support functions.
- Maintain operational records, reports, and documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare presentations, meeting materials, and management summaries.
- Support onboarding, training coordination, and administrative tracking activities.
- Assist with supply, equipment, and vendor coordination as needed to support ongoing operations.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in business analysis, operations support, reporting, or a related analytical role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and provide actionable recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, Power Query, and data analysis techniques.
- Experience creating automated reports, dashboards, and performance metrics using Excel and/or BI tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting utility, vegetation management, construction, field services, or infrastructure operations.
- Familiarity with reporting and analytics platforms such as Power BI, Salesforce, or similar tools.
- Experience with workforce planning, forecasting, budgeting, or resource management.
- Knowledge of GIS platforms and mapping applications (Field Maps, ArcGIS, etc.).
- Experience working directly with field operations teams and leadership.
- Exposure to system integrations, data management, or workflow automation tools is a plus.

Working Conditions
