Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial health. Your expertise will help us maintain accurate financial records, streamline accounting processes, and contribute to strategic decision-making. Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently using various financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage
Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Support payroll management using systems like ADP, UltiPro, or Paychex while ensuring compliance with tax regulations and payroll laws
Assist with internal controls and compliance procedures related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements
Utilize Excel data analysis skills for budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reporting to inform strategic decisions

Requirements

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in corporate accounting practices and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Strong understanding of governmental accounting standards is a plus
Hands-on experience with popular accounting systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, Kronos, or similar platforms
Proficiency in financial software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro or equivalent tools
Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to perform data entry accurately and efficiently (including 10 key typing)
Knowledge of technical accounting concepts such as journal entries, debits & credits, account analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping
Ability to analyze financial data effectively using Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for account reconciliation and ledger management
Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and support audit processes
