Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Shop Worker to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and inspecting sheet metal components used in a variety of industrial applications. Your expertise will help ensure high-quality production standards are met while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in advanced manufacturing techniques and contribute to innovative projects.

Duties

Operate a range of fabrication equipment including CNC laser cutting machines, plasma cutters, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and electrical discharge machining tools to shape and form sheet metal parts.
Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to accurately produce components.
Set up and program CNC machinery for precise cutting, drilling, and shaping of sheet metal according to project requirements.
Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to inspect parts for quality assurance and adherence to specifications.
Perform welding operations using various techniques to assemble fabricated parts securely.
Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products meet safety standards and customer expectations.
Assist with material handling using forklifts and cranes to move raw materials and finished products safely within the shop floor.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace by following safety protocols and proper tooling procedures.
Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, ensuring timely completion of projects while adhering to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

Proven experience working with sheet metal fabrication in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in operating CNC laser cutting machines, plasma cutters, press brakes
Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T standards for precise fabrication.
Skilled in welding techniques including MIG, or stick welding as applicable.
Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for measurements and adjustments during production.
Experience with quality inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
Valid forklift certification preferred; experience operating cranes is a plus.
