Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to join a growing residential remodeling company serving Monroe County. This is a hands-on field leadership role for someone with strong remodeling experience, solid carpentry skills, and the ability to help guide another team member on the job site.
This position is approximately 60–70% hands-on carpentry while also helping oversee daily jobsite activity, quality, safety, communication, and project flow. The role currently oversees one additional team member, with the opportunity to grow into broader field leadership as the company continues to expand.
Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on rough and finish carpentry on residential remodeling projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and other home renovation work.
Lead by example on the jobsite by setting the standard for quality, efficiency, safety, cleanliness, and professionalism.
Oversee and support one additional field team member, including assigning tasks, explaining expectations, and helping develop their skills.
Review upcoming work, plan daily tasks, and help keep projects moving according to schedule.
Ensure work is completed correctly, safely, and to company standards.
Communicate with homeowners as needed in a professional and respectful manner.
Provide updates to company leadership regarding job progress, schedule changes, material needs, customer feedback, and any jobsite concerns.
Help track materials, tools, and supplies needed for upcoming work.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
Coordinate with inspectors when needed to ensure work meets applicable code and project requirements.
Qualifications:
Strong experience in residential remodeling, carpentry, or a closely related construction field.
Solid knowledge of rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and the general trades involved in home remodeling.
Ability to work hands-on while also helping lead and organize the jobsite.
Prior experience leading, training, or mentoring another carpenter, helper, apprentice, or small crew is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality craftsmanship.
Professional communication skills with homeowners, coworkers, inspectors, and company leadership.
Reliable, accountable, and able to represent the company well in occupied homes.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM.
Employees report directly to the jobsite. The company services all of Monroe County, so commute distance may vary depending on where the employee lives and where the active project is located.
All tools and supplies will be provided at the jobsite. This position does not require driving a company vehicle.
