Full Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-focused Business Tax Preparer to join our team. In this role, you will advise clients, analyze financial and tax information, and prepare accurate business and individual tax returns. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

The successful candidate will maintain client confidentiality, provide strategic tax planning guidance, and help foster long-term client relationships through professional and responsive service.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Preparation

Prepare individual income tax returns.
Prepare business tax returns, including:

Schedule C returns

Corporate returns

Partnership returns

LLC returns

Estate and fiduciary returns

Review and audit tax forms for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
Analyze client financial and tax data to maximize tax benefits while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Assist clients with responses to tax notices and correspondence from tax authorities.

Client Service & Advisory

Advise clients throughout the tax preparation process.
Answer client questions regarding bookkeeping, payroll, and tax-related matters.
Conduct client meetings and consultations.
Provide proactive tax planning strategies for individuals and businesses.
Maintain timely and professional communication with clients and tax agencies.

Qualifications

Experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Understanding of bookkeeping and payroll processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines during tax season.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics.

Required Qualifications

PTIN or other relevant tax certification.
Experience with professional tax preparation software.
Prior public accounting or tax firm experience.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
