Full Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a strong estimating background to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of wireless data infrastructure projects across multifamily residential communities. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage full project lifecycles — from preconstruction estimating through final commissioning — while maintaining budget integrity, schedule adherence, and quality standards specific to the telecommunications industry, including outside plant and underground fiber installations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead end-to-end construction management of wireless and structured data cabling projects within multifamily residential developments, including MDU apartments, condominiums, and mixed-use communities.
Develop detailed project estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs; maintain bid packages and support business development efforts with accurate preconstruction budgets.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work from award through closeout, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
Coordinate directly with GCs, property developers, and building owners to align telecom infrastructure and designs.
Oversee installation of fiber optic backbone cabling, structured Cat6/Cat6A data networks, and related wireless access point infrastructure throughout multifamily properties.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise underground fiber installations including conduit installation, directional boring/HDD, trenching, pull boxes, hand holes, and outside plant (OSP) fiber splicing and termination.
Manage permitting, utility locates, and right-of-way coordination for underground OSP work in compliance with local and municipal requirements.
Ensure compliance with NEC, BICSI, TIA/EIA standards, local requirements, and FCC regulations across all projects.
Supervise field crews, subcontractors, and vendors; conduct site visits and safety inspections to enforce quality and OSHA compliance.
Prepare and review RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout documentation including as-built drawings for underground pathways.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to review drawings, identify constructability issues, and provide value engineering recommendations.
Track and report project KPIs including budget variance, schedule performance, safety metrics, and material procurement status.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of construction management experience and estimating in the telecommunications industry, with demonstrated focus on multifamily or MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) projects.
Proven estimating experience including takeoffs, subcontractor bid analysis, and proposal development for wireless and low-voltage data projects.
Hands-on experience with underground fiber installations including conduit systems, directional boring (HDD), trenching, OSP fiber splicing, hand hole and pull box placement, and pathway documentation.
Working knowledge of outside plant (OSP) design standards, including aerial and underground fiber plant construction practices.
Proficiency with structured cabling standards: fiber optic, and copper data (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) in large residential and manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with NEC codes, BICSI TDMM standards, TIA-568/569/758, and OSHA 30 safety requirements.
Experience with utility coordination, 811 locates, and permitting for underground work in public right-of-way.
Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, OSP fiber route plans, and cable schedules.
Proficiency with project management and estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or equivalent).
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

BICSI or OSP Specialist certification.
OSHA 30 Construction certification.
Familiarity with OTDR testing, fiber characterization, and acceptance testing for underground OSP fiber plant.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
