This position is eligible for appointment at Step 1, $91,603.20 annually.
County employees are subject to the County Promotion Rule for Step Placement in Accordance with Compensation Ordinance 1.3.5.

This is the professional journey-level class of the Administrative Analyst series. The Administrative Analyst II role is responsible for providing managers and executives with general administrative support in a wide variety of areas, including, but not limited to, financial management, budget preparation, purchasing, contract administration and monitoring, cost-benefit analysis, personnel, general administration, and special projects requiring quantitative and analytical skills.

Hiring Process and Timeline
The timeline for this recruitment is outlined below.

Job Offer and Background Process begins: Shortly after the interviews. Note: Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.

Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.

Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.
Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited U. S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency, AND, three (3) years of full-time professional level experience performing policy and procedures interpretation, special studies and projects, or general administration, OR,

Seven (7) years of full-time professional level experience performing policy and procedures interpretation, special studies and projects, or general administration.

A master's or doctoral degree from an accredited U. S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency may substitute for up to one (1) year of the required experience.

Education and work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. In order for education to substitute for work experience as indicated above, college level coursework must demonstrate progress toward a degree.

Applicants must have qualifying education and/or experience as of the application deadline date.

Qualifying experience must be at the Professional Level.

If you are using your experience in a County of San Diego classification to meet the minimum requirements and it is not considered a professional class under the Class Characteristics, your application will be rejected.

Conditions of Employment
As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Evaluation
The names of qualified applicants will be placed on a
six (6) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment application and supplemental questionnaire.
