Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aide to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in their home health environments. This vital role involves delivering personalized care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being. As a Personal Care Aide, you will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for those you serve by offering attentive personal care, monitoring health status, and assisting with daily activities. Your energetic approach and commitment to compassionate service will make a meaningful difference in your clients’ lives.

Responsibilities

Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and hygiene.
Monitor patients’ health by observing vital signs, noting changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals promptly.
Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
When needed, Help with mobility and transfers using proper patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts to promote safety.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area.
Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents accurately in compliance with healthcare standards.
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents or clients, fostering a positive environment.
Assist with transportation or community outings as needed to promote social engagement and independence.
Support specialized care needs such as bi polar disorder care, memory care, autism support, or neurodevelopmental disorder assistance when required.

Qualifications

Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, in group homes, assisted living facilities, or home health settings is highly preferred.
Knowledge of observation techniques, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and patient monitoring is preferred.
Experience with specialized care such as behavioral support, crisis care, support with intellectual disabilities is advantageous.
Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers safely using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts.
Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
