Box Acupuncture is located near Good Samaritan Hospital off of S. Bascom Ave. We are a very busy acupuncture clinic that has 9 treatment rooms rotating 20-30 minutes hourly.
We are in-network with most insurance companies, and worker's compensation, and work with professional athletes. Our practice is a general practice, but we emphasize sports and orthopedic medicine, internal medicine, digestive disorders, pain management, and facial/cosmetic acupuncture.
In addition, we are always looking to add new specialties and practitioners to the clinic in hopes of becoming an integrative and cooperative medicine clinic. Our belief is that Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, in general, are focused on preventive health, and corrective health, in addition to being able to integrate with the Western Medicine Paradigm. All Licensed Acupuncturists must be passionate about treating pain management and pain-related conditions.
As a PT/FT Licensed Acupuncturist, it is your responsibility to communicate effective treatment plans with your patients. You must be well versed in anatomy and physiology, western medicine terminology, as well as understand and be able to explain Traditional Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture using biomedical terminology. Exceptional customer service, communication, note-taking/SOAP note skills are required and a must. As an EHR, we use Jane and it would be a + if you are already familiar with charting and scheduling.
You must be a people person. The ideal candidate has experience in retail/customer service, fluent in English, and a team player. If you specialize in something other than what's listed above, great! Understanding Insurance Billing is a +, but we can teach you as well. Multilingual is a + and specifically Spanish above other languages.
Must have graduated from an ACAOM accredited Acupuncture Program, be DTCM or DAOM ideally, have somewhat of a Sports Medicine background if possible, and have at least 2+ years of experience as a Licensed Acupuncturist. Compensation is initially hourly with bonus, then after a year profit sharing, 401k, and other benefits. Paid time off is available as well as other benefits like retirement options, and funds set aside for CEU's/License Renewal.
This current position is available (Saturdays and Sundays 8:30 AM- 5PM, with an option to work 2-3 weekdays (Thursdays 9:30-6PM and Fridays 9:30-5PM).
We are open 7 days a week.
California Acupuncture Board Licensed, NCCAOM licensed (ideally).
Must have your own malpractice/professional liability insurance CPR/AED BLS qualified
Certifications/Education: DAOM/DTCM; Ideally interested in Orthopedic Courses
Must be familiar and able to use E-Stim units - We use Pantheon Research units
Acupuncture, Cosmetic Acupuncture Certified as well as ideally Microneedling Certified.
We also do a lot of Glass Cupping Therapy and Dry Needling/Trigger Point work.
Starting compensation is $25 per patient which equates to up to $50/hour or more if able to treat more patients comfortably. After the first year, there will be benefits available such as professional license fee coverage, %CEU coverage, retirement options for full-time employees.
After the initial 90-day onboarding, we will consider credentialing the practitioner with all major insurance networks at 50/50 cost which will be discussed during the interview.
