Full Job Description

Job Title: Chapel Audio/Visual (A/V) Technician – Part-Time
Location: Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA
Job Type: Part-Time / On-Site
Schedule: Sundays, approximately 3–4 hours per service, with occasional non-Sunday services
Pay: $31.59/hour + required SCA health & welfare/fringe benefits
Position Status: Contingent upon contract award

Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Chapel Audio/Visual (A/V) Technician to provide on-site support for chapel worship services at Vandenberg Space Force Base. The technician will support live audio, camera operation, livestreaming, equipment setup, troubleshooting, and post-service shutdown to ensure a smooth worship experience for both in-person and online attendees.

Key Responsibilities

Arrive at least 45 minutes before each scheduled service to set up and test A/V equipment.
Test microphones, speakers, monitors, cameras, streaming software, and related systems before service begins.
Operate and manage live audio using chapel sound equipment, including digital mixers such as the DL32S Mackie Mixer and/or Behringer X32.
Balance audio levels for speakers, worship teams, and other audio inputs.
Operate cameras and support livestream presentation.
Start, monitor, and end Facebook Live broadcasts or similar livestream platforms.
Troubleshoot audio, video, camera, or streaming issues during live services.
Coordinate professionally with chapel staff and volunteers.
Properly shut down and store A/V equipment after each service.
Report equipment issues, malfunctions, or technical concerns to chapel staff.
Maintain professional conduct in an interfaith chapel environment.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience with live audio mixing.
Minimum 1 year of experience with live video streaming and camera operation.
Experience with microphones, speakers, cameras, digital mixers, and streaming software.
Familiarity with Facebook Live, YouTube, OBS, Streamlabs, Proclaim, or similar platforms.
Ability to work independently during live services.
Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues clearly.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to speak, read, and write English professionally.
Must be able to pass required background screening and meet base access requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting worship services, live events, conferences, or public livestreams.
Familiarity with DL32S Mackie Mixer, Behringer X32, Proclaim, OBS, or similar A/V systems.
Reliable, punctual, and comfortable troubleshooting during live events.

Work Environment
This is an on-site role supporting live chapel services. Work is primarily performed on Sundays, with occasional support required for non-Sunday services. The technician must be dependable, professional, and able to support live services with minimal supervision.

Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour
