Position Summary:
MAG Aerospace is seeking to hire an IT Infrastructure Technician II to support a SATCOM Program on-site at the Tobyhanna Army Depot in Tobyhanna, PA.
In this role, you will lead the creation, update, and maintenance of detailed engineering drawings for structured cabling and equipment racking systems, with a primary focus on AutoCAD design. The ideal candidate must possess advanced AutoCAD proficiency to generate precise "as-built" documentation, rack layouts, and installation schematics, while also being comfortable using Microsoft Visio to support supplementary diagramming needs. Additionally, you will occasionally support physical implementation, including hands-on experience with rack builds, cable management, and working safely around low-voltage electrical systems.
*MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN TO APPLY*
MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE OR BE ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN ONE
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drafting & Design: Create, update, and maintain highly accurate rack layouts, cable paths, floor plans, and comprehensive as-built drawings using AutoCAD as the primary platform, supplemented by Visio as required.
- Schematic Interpretation: Interpret, translate, and refine complex design drawings, engineering schematics, and architectural floor plans into actionable drafting packages.
- CAD & Diagramming Standards: Establish and enforce strict drawing layers, blocks, dimensioning, and labeling standards to ensure high-quality, uniform deliverables across both AutoCAD and Visio platforms.
-
Standards Compliance: Apply strict drafting standards, industry best practices, and client specifications to all deliverables to ensure technical accuracy.
- Documentation Management: Manage the version control, labeling standards, and organized archiving of all engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Physical Implementation Support: Provide occasional hands-on assistance during peak deployment phases, including mounting equipment (servers, switches, PDUs, UPS) and organizing cabinet enclosures. Route, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A, fiber optic) based on drafting specifications. Support rack-level power work, including mounting PDUs, routing power cables for airflow optimization, and verifying proper rack grounding/bonding.
-
Field Verification: Inspect active environments to identify basic electrical issues (improper grounding, overloaded circuits) and update drawings to reflect real-world configurations.
-
Team Collaboration: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and logisticians to ensure CAD and Visio deliverables align perfectly with project timelines and physical deployments.
Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills
-
Advanced AutoCAD Proficiency: Proven expertise in AutoCAD for creating, editing, and managing complex technical drawings and detailed engineering layouts (Mandatory).

Visio Competency: Comfort and proficiency with Microsoft Visio for creating and updating technical diagrams, flowcharts, or system schematics when required.
-
Technical Drafting Expertise: Strong ability to read, interpret, and generate detailed technical drawings, electrical schematics, and data center floor plans.
-
Infrastructure Familiarity: Direct experience with rack and cable installations for IT, data center, or defense network environments.
-
Electrical Aptitude: Solid understanding of low-voltage power systems, rack-level power distribution, grounding standards, and electrical safety.
-
Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with structured cabling standards and drafting conventions.
-
Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail with a strict focus on documentation accuracy, labeling precision, and quality control.
-
Physical Requirements: Experience using basic hand/power tools and the ability to lift and move hardware equipment when occasionally supporting physical builds during peak deployment phases.
